In this role, I manage enterprise-wide financial planning process for company long-range and annual plans and provide a decision-support function for senior leadership to deliver short and long-term company goals. Manager, Strategic Financial Analysis

I was primarily responsible for preparing financial presentations for the American Express National Bank (AENB) Board of Directors, supporting AENB's financial scenario modeling, and managing AENB's responses to certain regulatory requests from agencies including the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and Federal Reserve Bank. In addition, I helped drive critical strategic financial planning across business units of American Express to provide insights to senior leadership, supporting our company’s ability to achieve its short and long-term financial goals.

Manager, Capital Program Oversight

I worked regularly with key stakeholders to plan and manage the implementation of the MTA's historic $55 billion 2020-2024 Capital Program. Day to day, I developed and analyzed complex financial data sets for internal and external communications about the Capital Program, provided financial oversight of projects across MTA agencies, and assisted in the transformation of the MTA's capital project planning and delivery methods into the new MTA Construction & Development Company.

Analyst, Capital Program Management

As an Analyst at MTA HQ, I aided in the planning, development, and launch of the MTA's historic $55 billion 2020-2024 Capital Program - in addition to work on financial oversight, management, and administration of the MTA's $33 billion 2015-2019 capital program. As part of the MTA's "gates" process, I evaluated MTA agencies' proposed project budgets, identified scoping challenges, and pursued adherence of projects to state and agency policies.

Capital Planning & Programming Intern

I worked on a variety of projects funded by the 2015-2019 MTA Capital Plan. My duties included drafting project justifications for the MTA's "Gates" funding process, identifying projects for minority and women owned small business mentoring contracts, researching railroad-related New York State infrastructure and real estate law, and coordinating meetings with and reviewing the work of consultants on several fire and life safety projects in the Park Avenue Tunnel and Grand Central Terminal. In addition, I completed several railroad safety certifications including roadway worker training, shop safety training, third rail safety training, and first line of defense security training.

Transportation Research Intern

Working on behalf of the Metropolitan Rail Discussion Group (MRDG), I worked on a compilation of updated estimates of the state of good repair backlog and normal replacement needs of major transit agencies.This will be presented alongside a quantification of the economic impact transit systems and transit investments make to the metropolitan economies they support in a final report on the Need for Greater Federal Investment in Metropolitan Rail, presented to Congress and transit agencies in Fall 2015.

Transportation Planning Intern

I assisted RPA's transportation staff on research and analysis of regional transit issues, particularly the impending changes to car ownership, usage, and technology. Over the course of my internship I wrote a white paper on the implications of these changes to the NY-NJ-CT region in terms of RPA's Fourth Regional Plan. This placement was coordinated as part of the Cornell Urban Scholars Program.

Production Assistant

The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library is an offline digital collection of research journals for agriculture and related sciences available to institutions in income-eligible countries, funded by a $4.9 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I assist the production coordinator by finding and downloading journal articles, creating spreadsheets for internal use, and manually indexing articles using EndNote.
